A COMMEMORATION FROM THE HEART
On Thursday, September 11, High Street Christian Church has been asked to host “A Commemoration From the Heart,” the 9/11, Akron City and community interfaith service. We cordially invite High Street Members to attend this celebration and hope that you will take this time to join this service of commemoration with people of all faiths.
We are thankful for the loving support we receive each day from the people God has placed in our lives. The most important things in life are our relationship with God and the love of family and friends.
We hope you will be able to join us and for this very important service as we renew acquaintances and make new ones in this commemoration of September 11. The gift of one another is a priceless inheritance, and it may well some day become the foundation of everlasting peace.

READING CLUB WRAP-UP
Congratulations to the 12 High Street kids who caught the summer reading bug and participated in the Church's Reading Club which began June 29. Instead of lamenting that "There's nothing to do" and "I'm bored," during the summer months, these kids checked out and read such titles as "The Moonglow Roll-O-Rama" by Dave Pilkey, and "Boomer Goes to School" by Constance W. McGeorge among many others. The Reading Club continues through August 24. A special wrap up for the program will be held at the September 7 all church picnic. Hope to see you there!
Remember you are always welcome to visit the H. A. Valentine Children's library, located on the Church's 3rd floor, or browse the book trucks located at various locations throughout the church to find some great books including mysteries, thrillers, adventures, amazing Bibles stories and other materials.
